“The awe of discovering the human body. The honor of being trusted to give advice. The gratitude for helping someone through a difficult illness. These things never grow old.”
~ Danielle Ofri, MD via The New York Times
The MedME program at WPI supports expert medical care and education to benefit those suffering from complex infection-associated diseases and medical education surrounding ME, Long COVID, and chronic tick-borne diseases.
WPI has maintained the Clinic at WPI, a state-of-the-art medical clinic, for the past ten years, providing space, medical equipment, and funding for CTM Associates, led by expert physician Dr. Kenny De Meirleir. WPI's medical offices are on the third floor of the Center for Molecular Medicine at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Dr. De Meirleir has over thirty years of experience studying and treating individuals with complex illnesses. He leads this area of medicine through his private medical practice and a translational research program in collaboration with Dr. Vince Lomardi, Ph.D., of the University of Nevada, Reno.
The MedME program is expanding its efforts to educate medical providers and students through lectures, seminars, and written materials.
